Mariana Kgide and France Dedupressis
The work of Mariana Kgide is made primarily in papier maché, with this material she sets out to discover her inner essence from very personal but universal human experiences. With her present work she ventures into the enigmas of life itself, primordial images and pre-Columbian imagery; at work are human figures with a sense of personal discovery, a strong desire to delve deep into the question of what it means to be human and into the very edge of the meaning of life and death. Mariana Kgide was born in Acapulco and now lives in La Peñita.
The paintings of France Duplessis are poetic statements in painting, they are a narrative to nature and to the wonderful world we inhabit. Silhouettes of human figures walk under a starry sky that can exist only in the inner world of this wonderful painter. This inner world is ripe with connections, “neurons” that communicate like musical notes floating in a nebulae of worlds, in and out of made up dreams and far away galaxies. France is Canadian and resides in La Peñita de Jaltemba.
Life is easy; art is hard. Both of these artists are proof that a human individual can have the inner need to express themselves but that only the most tenacious step out into the possibility of a life well lived. Join us for a glass of wine and meet these wonderful human beings.
